The Freestyle Club Episode 18: I'm Coming Out with Jasmine Denis
In this episode of The Freestyle Club – I'm Coming Out – Jasmine Denis we tackle domestic violence, homelessness, and other factors that Freestyle's first openly Transgender artist has experienced.
Freestyle Music recording artist Jasmine Denis talks about her latest release “It's Over” and how it relates to domestic violence. Jasmine shares her experience being in a relationship where domestic violence was the norm. She expands on how long she was in a violent relationship and why she stood so long and how it eventually came to an end.
Jasmine describes being homeless at a young age and how grateful she feels towards her producer Edwin Ramos, who took her in despite having his own family to support. Jasmine also echoes CPR's sentiment about artists supporting and celebrating each other over a decade ago and missing that camaraderie today.
Jasmine also points out two individuals that have always accepted her throughout her life and career (you'll have to listen to find out who they are). Speaking of acceptance, Jasmine goes deep into her personal life and reveals who has accepted her transition and who has not.

The LGBT community faces higher rates of discrimination, unemployment, homelessness, domestic violence and significantly higher rates of suicide.
