Ok, I gave in and got it for my son for Christmas. And I must admit, I was a little sceptical, but its pretty phat. There's some killer tracks. Of course I suck it at and my son is kick ass already...lol...(kids these days)...I think I'm dislexic, lol...just like Guitar Hero, I mean you gotta be quick with the buttons and throw in the shit when they say. I'm used to doing my own thing in my own little zone working on instincs. But all in all this is definitely a great game I would recommend it to anyone, dj or just someone who loves music. There are some really killer songs, beats, samples, scracthes, and remixes, mostly all old school tracks too. So far I haven't heard a bad song yet, really great track selection. And there will always be more to add to the crates, like guitar hero you will be able to download and unlock more songs, so its limitless. I was sceptical and never thought I'd say this, but fuck yeah I like it...

Another cool thing, with vinyl making a comeback already, and reto styles already seem to be the "in thing" with the younger generation, what I'm hoping is this game may motivate and inspire some younger kids to actually get into "real" djing and maybe purchase a set of decks instead of cdj's or even lamer a laptop. So I am very happy this game came out...I'm sure some young vinyl dj's will be born after being hooked on this game...djc.

Cool! I want to see a video of you guys playing or at least some pics of what came in the box. I'm dying to see it in action. Maybe Ted can use it on his show, lol.

DJ C,
You gave a really good explanation of the DJ Hero!
I too hope alot more teens get into DJing.

Now i want to see what the dawg on game looks like! :)

Some sample mashups (theres 93)

You guys gotta hear these tracks, seriously fucking killer mashups. I have to do the homework and see who helped produce this game. I think Grandmaster Flash is one of them, as he is even a charachter in the game. The closest thing I can compare the remixes and mashups to would be Dj Enferno for whoever is familar with his work. All totally origianl mashups. So every song is basically 2 songs put together, and you do the work as part of hte game. So there's custom samples you can add in, a filter dial, a fader, and scratching of course involved. For a vinyl only dj, (and you guys effin know me by now),lol, this is def a cool game for kids and something for us dj's to fuck around with once in awhile too. Theres so many old school rap and 80's tracks, mixed with new tracks, seriously killer, gotta check these songs out below to see for yourselves.

Now my neighbors must be hating me. I have an insane 5.1 Klipsch system with a 12" Klipsch sub being powered by a Denon 700 Watt reciever!! so the house is rocking as we speak, lol...

Here's what it would look like playing. Cool demo and explanation of how it works:

They have it for PS2, PS3, WI, and Xbox. We were suckers and paid $126 dollars at Walmart here in AK. I'm not sure if its cause its Alaksa or thats everywhere. But I found it on Amazon for $90 bucks with free shipping. Don't get the "special edition" The only thing extra it comes with is a music CD and a cheap little stand which isn't needed. So from what I've read on negative reviews, its not worth the extra $ for the special edition.

So this is Dj Coast approved...lol...hahahah...

I think it looks pretty awesome!! I'm so into this stuff all this guitar hero..rock band...i have to tell my sis to buy this...she works at a gaming store...But serious it looks pretty cool!

If this type of game were around when I was a kid, I don't think I will leave my house. Thanks DJ C ;)

Yeah tell me about it. You know the old "go to your room" punishment. Now its go outside boy!....lol...It sucks being here in Alaksa, it has been raining everyday for about 10 days now, dark, dreary, and foggy, along with the cold. It sucks for the kids. Whenever its nice out, I make him go out. He's actually taking the dog for a walk right now in the rain...lol...

But like you said, I hope this inspires some young bucks to become dj's. But turntable dj's...djc.

P.S. My son has unlocked a bunch more mixes. Seriously, anybody who loves the old school will absolutely love this game. I just enjoy listening to it while he plays. I don't even care about playing, I have the real deal, but the tracks are absolutely amazing. All the old school rap and 80's classics. like form Qeeen Blondie, Genisis, Rick James, Tears for Fears, Motorhead. I totally thought it was going to be all hip hopped out with the new rap crap thats aout now, buts it 90% old school. The ones with new songs, are the good ones, from 50 cent, Fergie, none of that Lil John and Jarule junk. Even Wu tang is on this, Masta Ace, Young MC, Biggy, Tupac, Beastie Boys, Bell Biv Devoe, Public Enemy, ect...all the classics...and its the way they are put together, like Herbie Hancock mixed with "Lapdance" from Nerd, there's another killer mix is David Bowie "Lets dance" mixed with KRS One "Jack of spades", or "day and night" and "Boom boom pow!".....just great music...djc.

Allright I'm done raving about this game, lol...Now Activision, where's my check!!!

There are some tight mixes on there. My home boy bought it for his son,I haven't tried it,but the music is cool.

I was also skeptical about this game, but I played it at a friends house and was hooked! He had the Wii version, but I opted for the PS3 one as you can download add on tracks to it. I like playing as DJ AM and DJ Jazzy Jeff. The tracks are AWESOME!! The Eminem vs. Jay Z track is the shit! I agree with Coast that this may inspire the next generation to buy some turntables and attempt the real thing.

I was in Toys R Us a while back and they had it setup in a corner. This kid was rocking it and his mom was swaying back and forth to the music. LOL. I don't know if they ended up buying it, but they looked like they were really enjoying it.
